Adams commends victims families and marchersPublished: 2 November, 2008
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams MP MLA speaking in Sligo this evening where he is attending a party selection convention for next years EU elections said:
"The decision to stage a British military parade in Belfast city centre is proof, if proof is needed, of the crass stupidity and insensitivity of the British establishment.
The families of the victims of British violence are to be commended for their discipline, especially when some loyalist thugs showered them with bolts, bottles and fireworks.
That today passed peacefully is in no small measure down to the maturity of those who protested against the Military parade.
It is entirely right and proper that there was a demonstration against British militarism in Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan. I commend everyone involved." CRÍOCH |
