Sinn Fein lead march in support of Visteon workersPublished: 8 April, 2009
West Belfast Sinn Fein MLA's Paul Maskey, Jennifer McCann and Paul Butler today led a march of hundreds in support of the Visteon workforce. The march assembled at the Busy Bee complex on the Andersonstown Road and made its way to the Visteon plant on Finaghy Road North. Many other Sinn Fein activists, including Sinn Fein councillor Maire Cush, West Belfast chairperson Patrick Adams and Belfast chairperson Bobby Storey, attended the march to show their continuing support for the workers in their dispute with Ford. Jennifer McCann spoke at a rally inside the Visteon plant and urged the workforce to keep up the momentum in their campaign and reaffirmed Sinn Fein's complete support for the worker's demands. A rally is planned for Belfast City Hall on Friday 17th April to allow the citizens of Belfast and beyond the opportunity to support the workers.
