Published: 21 October, 2009

This Sunday, 25th October, in the Felons Club, an event is to be held to remember the prison protests in the H Blocks in the 1970's and 80's.

The evening will consist of the showing of the new documentary 'Blanketmen' which features some of those who were on the protest, like Laurence McKeown and 'Tomboy' Loudon speaking of what they endured and overcame in jail.

A panel discussion / Q & A will follow with the panel made up of men who were on the protests in the H Blocks, women who were on the protest in Armagh, and a perspective of the leadership on the outside at that time.

The night will conclude with live music by local musician Decky Murray.

An original painting by a local artist depicting a Blanketman will be balloted on the night.

Admission is £5 and the event begins at 8pm.
