Gerry Adams is seeking an urgent meeting with Michael McGimpsey, the Minister of Health, to discuss the need for the Health department to "take immediate and urgent steps to ensure that the new Regional Women's and Children's Hospital at the Royal is prioritised in any review of current and future spending by the Department; and that in the first instance, funding is cleared (approx.£32m) to begin the essential work of clearing the site on the Royal which is required for construction work to commence." On Saturday, September 20, at 4pm, republicans from all over Belfast and beyond will gather at the Bryson/Mulvenna mural in Ballymurphy Road to commemorate the 35th anniversary of their deaths.
A plaque in their memory will be unveiled and Sinn Fein leader and comrade of the two volunteers, Gerry Kelly, will speak at the ceremony.
That evening at 7.30pm, in Whiterock Leisure Centre, a DVD specially made in memory of Jim and Patrick will be shown and this screening will be followed by entertainment. Read full article
