Sinn Féin Councillor Paul Maskey has said that the decision by Belfast City Council to fly a British MoD flag this Saturday, June 27, to celebrate "British armed forces" dishonours hundreds of citizens of this city who have been murdered and is an affront to their bereaved families. West Belfast 'It's a Knockout' competition launched by local sporting personalities

The West Belfast 'It's a Knockout' event was launched today, Tuesday 23rd June, outside the offices of Feile an Phobail, the West Belfast festival group, on the Falls Road. Present at the launch were Sean Paul O'Hare, Feile an Phobail director; Harry Connolly, Failte Feirste Thiar (West Belfast Tourism office) director; Martin Rogan, Irish heavyweight boxing champion; Jane Adams, Antrim and Rossa camogie captain; Terence 'Sambo' McNaughton, Antrim hurling manager and Paddy Cunningham, Antrim football captain. McGuinness challenges Orange Order in Bodenstown speech

Sinn Féin MP and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness today delivered the annual Wolfe Tone commemoration at Bodenstown, County Kildare. As part of a wide ranging address Mr McGuinness challenged the Orange Order to step forward and make its contribution to the peace process through stopping attempts to march through catholic areas. He said 'The days of republicans stretching ourselves and our communities to maintain calm in the face of sectarian provocation cannot last forever'. Read full article
