Jennifer McCann MLA
Jennifer Mc Cann lives in Twinbrook, west Belfast with her partner and 3 children.
She became involved in the republican movement at the young age of 14 and has been involved in republican community politics since then.
In 1980 Jennifer was imprisoned in Armagh women's prison and between Armagh and Maghaberry Prisons she served 10½ years.
She has worked in community development for a number of years, organising and developing community projects.
She has been involved in many Sinn Fein projects including the development of the women's department and the POW department.
In 2006 she became a Sinn Fein councillor on Lisburn council and in March 2007 she was elected to the power sharing assembly as one of the West Belfast candidates.
She is currently the party spokesperson on women, ethnic minorities and unionist outreach.
She is vice-chair of the Committee for Enterprise, Trade & Investment and is also a member of the Committee for Finance & Personnel.
